Spooooky Halloween Update!

We're clearly too busy to update our site these days.  When we're not off stomping office cockroaches, playing the greatest PS2 game of all time, or sucking down undercooked dim sum, we're nurturing our completely unhealthy fixation on how Power of Two Games is going to rock your god damn face with a truly awesome game.

"You guys shouldn't work so hard!", you say.  "Slow down or your game will be just too beautiful for this world!", you plead.  Well, we heard you when you said this, and we laughed long and hard at your impending ruin.  Noel laughed so hard that his jaw locked up.  In hindsight, that might have been the onset of trichinosis.  Either way, I don't cook the dim sum anymore.  I wonder if that had anything to do with liking God Hand as much as I did?  Maybe all that raw pork gave us the brain worms.

Ultimately we did listen to you, Gentle Reader.  We did slow down.  We took a break and let our subconscious guide our hands in the spookiest and Halloweeniest of all creative exercises:  The Great Halloween Pumpkin Carving.  I ate about 1/3 of a Seaside Market sugar-bomb pecan pie and sat in front of my pumpkin, with pen and knife in hand.  As the sugar took control of my primitive reptile brain, I transcended all awareness of myself and my surroundings.  My eyes lost focus and I was transported through magical and secret places that I will not speak of here.  I ended in darkness, where the true nature of existence was revealed to me, its myriad layers peeled away like an onion, exposing pure ultimate truth at the core.

Satori, Gentle Reader.  Satori.

"What did you see?!  For the love of all things holy, TELL US!  MY LIFE MEANS NOTHING!", you say.

I have travelled through the darkness, and for it I will be haunted for the rest of my days.  When I awoke, I carved.  I carved hard, as never before, a desperate attempt to crudely capture what I had beheld:

Sometimes we think maybe... maybe we shouldn't work so hard.  Maybe we should slow it down a bit.  Maybe we shouldn't eat raw pork and pecan pie.  Then we remember that we're doing it to get filthy rich for all for you gamers and indies out there, and we get back to work.

Happy Halloween!

A New Fan

It is a rare day indeed, when I find something on the net that interests me, and keeps my interest.

I am excited about Power of 2 games... I like everything about the enterprise. I found you by accident, whist researching about game programming... I look forward to your posts.

As a starving programming student, I don't believe I can afford to buy a shirt I won't wear. (not a fan of orange)

However, the point of this post, I thoroughly appreciate the clarity and humor of your writing, and luckily I am in the midst of learning C++, so I plan to buy your C++ book from amazon.

I look forward to learning from you. I only wish there was more to buy, and I had more to spend.

Best of luck!

T Shirt Color...

I think the kid's right. If you want to sell your shirts to gamers or developers they need to be black...you shoulda known that!

Negatory....

I disagree. My orange Power of 2 Games Tshirt glows in the dark and is much more handy for fiddling around when the power goes out than a boring old black t-shirt. You made the right choice Chas.

Xmas update?

Any chance of a Xmas update with a screenshot of your fabuolus game :-)

I hope everything goes well and that you have time for some Xmas vacation!

Developing great games.

Yeah i can't wait to see a screenshoot! It's not easy to develop a game, especially now that the younger generation is used to high quality graphics. But there is still hope for independent developers, with hard work and great ideas. I wish you the best of luck.. oh and i think orange is great for the t-shirts :)

Greeting from Hamburg!

I enjoy reading this post and I find you attractive. Programming is my joy to. My fantasy program is you, me and Alexandrescu. Together we template metaprogramming the world! Maybe we would be together in own company? I like to see picture of you Charles in orange shirt. Maybe pose fashionly. I think it be very nice to us see. Help me program please templates. I understand C++ well but no template. You are beautiful man and thank for shirt.

Get Shirty

I really think the dayglow colors would suit loopy gamers well
